05.04.2010

For the first time a fixed communication carrier of the Northwest Region offers licensed Microsoft software in the form of lease model. This will allow small- and medium-sized companies to cut their expenses on purchasing business solutions and their further supporting.

PeterStar, a leader of the market of telecommunication services in the Northwest Region, being part of the Synterra Group of Companies, and Microsoft announce launching of their joint program “Software as a service”. Within the scope of the program PeterStar makes it possible to take advantage of Microsoft’s business solutions such as, for instance, corporate e-mail or CRM under the lease conditions.

It should be noted that the joint PeterStar and Microsoft project became a continuation of the partnership agreement between the Microsoft Corporation and the Synterra Group of Companies, aimed at the development of applications leasing services within the scope of the program “Software as a service”.

The advantage of such a model consists in the fact that small- and medium-business companies of the Northwest Region can make good use of all capabilities of Microsoft’s licenses program products by paying a monthly rental. Thus they will be capable of avoiding expenses for equipment and software purchasing, IT system developing and further supporting. This became possible due to the Microsoft Software + Services (S+S) concept.

Within the scope of the program the following business solutions are offered:

  • corporate e-mail (mail, calendar, tasks, contacts, voice messages, team-work) based on the Microsoft Exchange Server;
  • solution for corporate communications (corporate telephony, including audio and video calls, audio and videoconferencing, instant messaging) based on the Microsoft Office Communications Server;
  • solution on client relations management providing users with full access to all functions of marketing, sales and service management of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system;
  • corporate portal for sharing documents based on the Windows SharePoint Services.

The first stage of program implementation takes place in Saint Petersburg. At present users are given a possibility to test demo versions of Microsoft applications on a free basis during 30 to 60 days by means of placing their request on the site www.peterstar.ru.
